My name is Donny and I am 34 years old. I live in Pittsburgh PA. I was diagnosed with kidney failure when I was 27 years old. I was on dialysis for 6 months before I was unbelievably lucky enough to find a donor on MySpace of all places. I received my transplant and things were really rough for awhile. I also have diabetes and cystic fibrosis so the surgery really took a toll on me and I was in and out of the hospital with pneumonia and a potentially fatal fungus in my lungs multiple times over the course of the following year. I eventually got better and things were pretty good for the following 5 years. Until now....unfortunately my kidney has failed again. To say I am devastated doesn't begin to describe it, but I'm sure plently of people on here can relate. I'm going to put up another post explaining my current situation because it's somewhat complicated and I did have a few questions I was hopiing to get some input on. I'm really hoping this site can help. I've been reading a lot of the posts on here and they seem really helpful. I don't really know where else to turn. In advance, thank you for listening.

 :welcomesign; to the site Donny! Bummer about your transplant failing, having to go through this twice would be quite unnerving. As away, there are some really knowledgeable folks hanging about this site, and they love to share their experiences.

Hi, Donny!

 :welcomesign;

I've read your other post, but don't have time to answer just yet. You have been through it, though.

Hi Donny, and welcome to IHD.  I'm so glad you have turned to us.  It is beyond words to lose a transplant.  But, we walk on.  I hope you find your answers here and also able to help someone.  You have lots of experience.

Thank you,

Donnie --- I'm really glad you found this board.  There are a lot of really supportive people and plenty of information.  So sorry to hear about the failing kidney .... that sucks.  But I'm most interested in hearing more about your live donor via MySpace ..........was it a friend or relative who donated after you posted or was it a stranger ?   I hope that luck strikes twice for you and you get a donor again.  I guess it's good that you have some experience already with dialysis to help you through this traumatic transition.  Again --- WELCOME.  I hope you'll contribute a lot to the board.  Seems you've certainly had plenty of experiences to share with the rest of us.
