I have started feeling quite a bit of back pain lately. Could this be caused by my PD? My belly sure has swelled, even to the point where it looks like my belly button will become an outie. I have been popping Tylenol to beat it down. It is starting to get better. I have gotten heavier and retained more fluid. We have started using more greens with our cycler at night and when I do manuals.

Thanks folks.

Sorry Hwy 61 for your troubles.  If it doesnt get straightened out, let the clinic know.  There is no need for unnecessary pain.
If you are talking about your cath site poking outward, that could very well be a hernia.  J had that too, but doc said that surgery to repair would not need doing, unless it got to strangling.  What ever that means!

Do keep clinic in formed.
Keep us posted,

Wish I could help you with this. Lmunchkin is right, tell your Doctor. You may have any other kind of back problems not related to your CKD at all. I know that I do. And please, keep us posted about what happens.

Go talk to your renal nurse/doctor. if you are putting weight on it   is mostl likely  to be  fluid. Are you sticking to your fluid restrictions and diet? let us know how you are going on.

highway, I find my back hurts from time to time when I'm carrying fluid. If you're not getting everything off with your drains, you certainly should consider swapping in a more concentrated solution. And letting your clinic know you are retaining is a must as it can be a pretty serious problem.
Good luck.

Lmunchkin, no it isn't my exit site but my belly button sticking out.

I have an appointment at my renal clinic on Monday and will bring up my back pain.

Joe, I hear ya. That is why we are going to more greens over yellows.

FYI LMUNCKIN: a strangulating hernia is where the piece of intestine that pokes through the abdominal muscles is literally strangled and begins to die. It can be lethal, my brother's mother-in-law had this but they caught it pretty quick.
