Going through life tied to a chair!

« on: January 04, 2012, 08:30:39 AM »

Our drains in the center have a problem with backup issues.  OMG last night the smell kept waking me up.  Smelled like rotten sauerkraut.  At first I thought the girl across the way from me was eating something discusting, but it was the drains again. They spray them with bleach and dump vinegar down them.  It is our waste from the machines.  Seems like they should do something like call a plumber!

Eewwww  :puke;  That doesn't sound very sanitary. Perhaps a discreet call to the state Health Department would motivate them to fix the problem.

You are right.  That is kind of touchy...... what if they shut them down.  Kind of cutting off my arm.  The workers hate it too.

Just wondering if anyone has the same problem in their center.

Well doing D at home, waste drains into toilet.  If it gets "Ripe", I just flush it!  It is somewhat embarrassing when someone is visiting. But if they don't understand it, then what can you do?  They could always choose not to come, which is probably why we don't have Visitors very often.  LOL.

Flushing the toilet and spraying Glade is DH's job while I am holding gauze on my sites.  I highly recommend Glade, we had an off brand and it didn't work for squat.

Drains stunk again last night.  It is horrid.  Seems like they could do something.  Dump boiling water down would help some.

I asked the techs at my center about this problem. They told me every Sunday, they have a crew come in, and bleach the drains. I've yet to notice a smell in my center. Ask how often they clean the drains? Have you called your local health bureau?
