i would like it if  gay people could be a little less 'in-your-face' about being gay. like, who cares? do straight people run around yelling, 'look at me, i like sex with the opposite gender!!' i don't have anything against gay people, other than that. why do they have to be so loud about it? why is their obsession with sex important enough to identify with it so strongly? i guess i know the answer to that one. thanks, media...

If I could change one thing in the world right now, it would be to question people who say they "don't have a problem" with people who are different from them, but who then say they would like the other group to become less visible.  In other words, I would like to do away with bigotry.

As Stacy Without an E stated so eloquently, "I would eliminate the ignorance, stupidity and arrogance that is rampant. . ."

LL I think that heterosexual sex is pretty much in our faces all the time too, in fact I see way more of that than of the same-sex variety, unless I go to the gay pride parade of course.   If aliens landed and saw our movies, our ads, etc they'd probably think that all we do is think about seduction, dress for seduction, seduce and have sex.  I find very explicit displays of public affection a little bit tacky myself (although I think that more sex and less gossip in private would do the world a world of good) but I'm not at all bothered by the sex, same or opposite,  of the groper and the gropee.

this is exactly why i ended my post with 'thanks, media' - because this is the reason we have such an obsession with sex. no david, i do not have a problem with gay people. in fact, mone of my daughters is gay and i love her as much as my straight daughters. i have a problem with people that are in my face about anything. most people have the same problem, in case you haven't noticed. but then, maybe you're an enlightened master. :sir ken;
in that case, i'd say you shouldn't be calling people on their 'ignorance' so much. who are you to decide what is ignorant for anyone but yourself?
that's pretty arrogant and judgemental, if you ask me.

The previous post has been reported to admins by me- Kitkatz.  We are at present dealing with it.

Epoman's rule:Please refrain from using bad language, an occasional bad word is OK but limit yourself. Remember people from ALL age groups visit here, that means children. For example instead of using the F*** word use WTF? instead. I know it means the same, but it doesn't look as bad. BUT As I said before an occasional curse word is fine just control yourself.

Thank you all.

I would eliminate the ignorance, stupidity and arrogance that is rampant in this country.  Talking loud on your cellphone, blasting your TV at Dialysis, cutting in line, failing to use your blinker in traffic and this entire me, me, me, mine, mine, mine mentality that is overwhelming our society.

Disagreements, lawsuits, murders and wars could be eliminated with the removal of these traits from our society.

Stacey, I so agree with you. Our society has become trashy in so many ways. Such a loss of respect for others and self.

If their is any gay guys out theire please let me know.  i feel like I am the only one.

I would like "homelessness" and "working poor" to be terms used only in past tense, because those things no longer exist.  Everyone has a home, and receives a respectable living wage.

A little bit of context to this.. my best friend works two jobs making a little less than $1100 a month, and is unable to afford a place to live.  She has been living in a shelter since May, when she lost her last apartment.  I would love it if she didn't have to go through what she's going through.

It's an abomination that anyone living in the richest nation the world has ever known is without a home.

I would like to see a ban on money in politics.  Did you know that members of Congress take information they've been privy to during legislative sessions and use it to guide their investment portfolios?  For the rest of us, we would be jailed for insider trading.  Remember when Martha Stewart went to jail?  Our congresspeople on both sides of the aisle do exactly the same thing as she did, but the rules are different for them so they don't get prosecuted.  One rule for Congress, another rule for the rest of us.  No wonder everyone hates Congress.

Congresspeople are forced to spend too much of their time fundraising.  Lobbyists spend money hand over fist to buy access to the legislative process.  Our laws are distorted by these practices.  It is really frightening.

She lives in New York City.  I worry for her safety.  The things that she tells me about some of the other people in the shelter scare the crap out of me.  A few months ago, she sent me an article about a woman, bank robber, who had been hiding out in her shelter.  It's really scary
