I have a question.... urine color ... kinda pink

Okay, I am now 3 weeks 3 days post transplant. My urine has been a beautiful clear yellow since I was released from the hospital. It has been yellow all day..... now, I just went to the bathroom and my urine was not yellow.... it was more of a peach... pink color.....
The first thing I thought of was.... hubby and I were ummm....
intimate this morning for the first time since transplant. The doctors said we could be intimate again after 4 weeks .... or sooner if I felt up to it. I called my TC.... no fever, no pain... so she said she wouldn't worry about it. Have any of you ladies experienced this?

Nope... I had it before I was released, but after that I had yellow urine.
Maybe you ate something to change it? Starting your cycle? Or maybe like you're thinking it was a reaction to the morning events?
Hope it doesn't continue.

Hummm... ate philly cheesesteaks with onion and yellow and green bell peppers and broccoli cheese soup. I did eat some nacho cheese doritos...hummm.
Couldn't be my cycle.... I had a hysterectomy 12 years ago...
I keep checking my temperature..... no fever. No pain, so that is a good thing.
I just pray that it clears up quickly! This is scaring me.

Do you have a stent in??? If so, if you were being more active than usual it could have rubbed against your bladder and caused slight bleeding. A couple weeks after my transplant I went for an 8 mile walk and then when I got home noticed bleeding, which just ended up being from the stent rubbing against the bladder.

keith, yes, I am drinking plenty of water. They have actually told me to slow down a little on my intake (was averaging between 2300 - 2700 ml a day... now about 2100).
Roxy, Yes, I was more active yesterday. I did some cleaning and walked around the grocery store (with my mask of course). I was doing alot of bending too. Maybe that was it.
My urine was "pink" twice last night. It is back to yellow again. I think I'm going to take it easy today. I just feel so dang good! I did alot more yesterday than I have been able to do in a long while!
Thanks everyone for your ideas and support

Should you call the clinic, just to be sure? Our clinic staff doesn't mind when we call, even with what turns out to be "that's normal" kind of stuff. Stephen has called two or three times now in 6 weeks.

Hematuria can have a lot of different causes, some of them benign, some of them very serious. Given the 'context' in which you describe its initial appearance, perhaps it could represent some minor mechanical trauma to the region outside the urethra, bladder, urinary tract, and kidney, rather than within it.
Don't assume that the only serious cause, however, has to be rejection, which your reassurance from the normal temperature and absence of pain seems to presuppose. Hematuria could also arise from some imperfection in the suturing of the connection between your transplanted kidney and your own vascular system, which should be checked.

Still no fever and my urine has been yellow and clear. I talked to my TC more in depth about it and we are keeping an eye on it. My labs still look great. My TC said that because I still have my stent in, that it is sometimes expected to see this if I am a little more active. I get my stent out on July 24th. He said if it happens after the stent is out, then is when we will be worried. I also have an appointment with my local nephrologist on Thursday, so I will talk to him about it too.

I was going to mention the stent, the tubing that is in the uretor to keep it open while the sutured areas heal, may cause slight bleeding if you're very active (or ummm... intimate
) so I wouldn't worry too much. I hope you continue to feel good and have no other problems.

This is good news Donnia. It makes sense when you think about it that a little bleeding is possible after surgery. And a little blood goes a long way in urine.
As in your case, I've read a couple of other places on IHD that folks have had their stents in for a couple of weeks or more. Stephen had his removed before he left the hospital - it was day 5, I think. Such a difference in timing. Another one of those many variables.

Could it be something you are eating or drinking?
Recently, after dialysis, my nurse made a comment about the filter being yellow. She asked if I had any liver problems. I told her that my pee had been bright yellow lately too. Then it dawned on me...I had run out of Nepro and drank a couple of bottles of Ensure which is loaded with niacin which makes stuff turn yellow.
Just a thought....
