Shorty has never in her life had back pain but she has been complaining about it for a couple of weeks now. She wanted me to get her some Aleve but I knew from things I've read here that Aleve probably wasn't a good idea. I suggested she try some Tylenol but she said she did and it helped about as much as drinking a glass of water would have. :( So, I called her doctor and was only able to leave a message. His nurse called me back about an hour later and said the doctor was going to give her Vicodin. She also kind of seemed like this was expected or normal.  I asked if I should bring her in to see the Dr. and she just said, "No, he really didn't think that would be necessary. He'll see her at her next appt in 3 weeks".  :/

So, is this just a normal occurrence with ESRD or dialysis?

BTW, her back pain seems to be near the bottom of her spine, not her kidneys.

Back pain can be common with kidney failure.

Sorry you're having such a hard time, sweetpea.  :(  I can only imagine how hard this must be for you.  I am taking care of my elderly mother-in-law so I really can't speak from experience.  Hang in there!
