Thanksgiving will be wonderful!

I am so excited! My son is flying in from London to visit me for two weeks, arriving the day after Thanksgiving. Flight's all booked. It's been almost a year since I've seen him. Hopefully this trip won't be marred by another Icelandic volcano eruption!
Lately, things in my life have just gone all weird.

Fab news, MM. Enjoy your time with him! Take pics and please let us see you two living it up!
(Don't want to creep you out further, but: Had a weird little flash involving you getting a call during his visit. Hmmm. Have you packed that bag? Have you thought about what you would do if that happens? I think holidays, even pretty lame ones like Columbus Day, have the potential to increase cadaver donation with all the extra traffic and indulgence. Please ignore me if this is upsetting in any way. I've gone a bit mental from stress!)

MM, get rid of that cold that some selfish person that had to go somewhere gave you, and then live it up. I went to get Dimatap and they don't make it anymore. Really? I did not hear about that. It probably cured colds so they took it off the market.
I'm so happy for you. Yippee. If the call comes it will make it more memorable.

, I haven't packed a bag, but I HAVE thought about what would happen if I got a call while he was here; that was the first thing that came to my mind. I don't have an answer to that scenario, but that would just be too weird to come true! And no, of course this wasn't upsetting. This is nothing compared to what you and Gwyn must be feeling right about now.
Rerun
, I've just returned from a midnight run to Walgreens to get some antihistimines that won't ruin my kidneys further. Had a nice chat with the pharmacist who gave me good advice. Don't they say that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas? Obviously that doesn't apply to germs.
Seriously though, I really don't think I have what you had. I don't have the chills and fever that struck you down. I'm just drippy and snotty. I remember Dimatap (sp?) and didn't realize they don't make it anymore.
Pitagory
, I lived in the UK for many years and spent countless hours and a ton of cash flying to and from London and Houston so that we could see my parents. I always traveled with just my son; our first trip over was when he was four months old. My parents' neighbors, however, had daughters that lived not too far away, and I saw my parents more than those girls saw theirs, so I do take your point. I think that when you live further away, you know you have to make more of an effort to visit. If you live close by, you think there will always be lots of chances to see each other.
Anyway, thanks to all of you for your good wishes.

What a great time to look forward to. It will be November before you know it. Keep that marvelous smile and just think of the wonderful days ahead. BTW, I enjoyed Mike so much. He is a kind man. He seemed to be having a good time in Vegas and he just fit right into the group. But then, I think you were the life of the party!! Your welcoming smile, open arms and generous heart touched me very much. I am hoping Thanksgiving will be full of memory making. And that kidney is coming -- put a few things together. Don't bother with cute pajamas! A hopital gown will be fine with all the tubes, etc!!
I am happy your son is coming. There is nothing better for a Mother's heart than holding her child.
