It's only 57 degrees out and my roomates have to have the a/c on! They say they are hot, and yes it is a bit warm in here but why not open the freeken door? arg this ticks me off! I'm seriously about ready to buy them one of those personal a/c units that you hook a water bottle up to. Things like this makes me want my own place again! too bad I can't aford living on my own anymore!
I hope one day I come home and they are gone, well not really but come on! a/c in this kind of weather? ? this is one time I wish it would break down. If I didn't rent I'd seriously go out and cut the wires or unplug it or something. No I wouldn't do that but I'd shut it off from the outside somehow so it wouldn't run. Now if they ever had it on and it was 30 outside I'd the really have a fit! My amune system isn't all that good and them doing this crap would make me sick. If I do get sick from this I am moving out seriously! and they can have their 30 degree apartment.
Note that I'm a cold blooded person some times because of my dialysis.
Sorry just had to rant, but this family besides me is so hotblooded that it's redicolous, and like I said earlier, why not open the door it's cool enough that this house would cool down.
This is what sucks about roomates, I'm sure I'm not the only one in the world that has roomate woes.
Now I must go put on my coat, lol.

Can't you tell the roommates that they can run the air conditioner but they have to pay some fee, like maybe $7 per hour due to rising cost of utilities? I had roommates and often had to let them know they had to reimburse me if they caused me higher bills.

I did one time they said they would but never did. Also I'm afraid it will make me sick, because it's fall now and it's been cold damp and rainy.

I know how you feel. I live with my mother.  She is menopausal.  She keeps the house cool, even in winter, because if she doesn't, she will spontaneously combust.  I have an electric heater fan.  I go to my room, close the door, and turn on the heater for a few minutes.  The room is nice and toasty.  I'm happy, she's happy

Sometimes room mates are just dumb and you cant do anything about it. In your case tho, I think I would just disconnect the thing until you need it next year.
