Hey guys!!!! So, I have a serious problem that I thought I would try to get some help from the good folks here on IHD. So, here's the problem. I've been having some problems (of the "female" type lol) so I had to see my Gyno....She had to call my nephrologist to figure out what they should do about my problem...anyway...when the nurse from the Gyno called and told me what they decided, I flipped out. She stated that it was best for me to have a surgery (that I already agreed to) rather than be put on medicine because I have been "non-compliant in the past."

Now, have any of you all come across this where you find out that you are "non-compliant" without anyone mentioning this to you? I had a parathyroidectomy in April and it was a big STRUGGLE to get my calcium back up and when I went in for my monthly appointment at the clinic (I'm on PD) the nurse pulled me aside and told me that she knows I'm not taking my medicine and wanted to know why. We had a big discussion about how I was taking my medicine and how the lab got my results wrong 3 different times (I had to go to the ER because they thought my calicium was too low but when I got to the ER they told me to go home because the results at the clinic were wrong). I do not want non-compliant on my record because I'm trying to get onto the transplant list. Has anyone else come across this???? I'm wanting to change centers SO BADLY but in my area, there really isn't anywhere else to go....any help would be appreciated, I just am at my whits end :).

Thanks in advance everyone!!!!!!

Omg, I'm so sorry to hear this. I can understand how you feel. Heck, I found out I had a digestive disease and no one freakin' told me until I saw my transplant doc who told me. Apparently I was diagnosed with it months before and no one told me. I can understand how you feel not being told something.    :cuddle;

I'm honestly stumped on what to advise. Can you take it to a higher level?

How can she say you're not taking your meds? Does she have a spy cam hooked up in her office? some meds just don't work!

sullidog said exactly what i was thinking but he put it so much better!  and i would ask the gyno's office "WHO" told them you were noncompliant, exactly who did they talk to and exactly what do they mean by noncompliant. compliance or lack there of covers a multitude of sins.

Thanks everyone for your replies so far. I've decided to get a copy of my medical records to see what else is on there that may be wrong. The way it sounds to me though it was my Nephrologist who told my Gyno that I was non-compliant but I have a feeling my dialysis nurse is the one who told her that I wasn't taking my medicine. It really makes me mad that they feel that they can just do whatever they want and get away with it just because they are the doctors and we are the patients!!!!

I see the clinic tomorrow so I'm going to try to get some answers then...

 :boxing; Good idea - get your records. You have the right to set the record straight - good luck!
