I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this, if not feel free to move the post. While it may not be directly discussing dialysis, it relates to our community. Article in Fox news this morning about a mother that donated a kidney to her son and was let go while she was recuperating. Article can be found here http://www.foxnews.com/health/2011/09/13/mom-donates-kidney-to-son-loses-job/

Can't say I'm surprised. Most businesses are heartless.

That is a complete tragedy, hopefully someone with a heart will contact her with even a better job.  Everything happens for a reason and I hope that her outcome will be a good one. I would love to hear if anyone has any updates to her story.

The owner of the company has offered her a new job there but she refused. She got a lawyer and is going to sue. But it turns out it's more complicated. She already took a bunch of time this year to care for her parents so even if she was covered by FMLA she may have used her 12 weeks for the year. Plus her boss got her to sign a paper saying she knew they might not hold her job. I think she should have taken the job offer. Of course they could have made her life hell in the new job to try to get her to quit.
