I use to carry  a lot of sugar free gum with while on dialysis when they where packages of 15. Now they come in packages of 9 and 12, noisy to open to and cinnamon only can be found in Fire Cinnamon! I just want basic cinnamon that won't bother me when your first start chewing. Seems most of the gum these days are getting away from the basic mint flavors with all these combo flavors now. They need free trial packets wth flavors I never heard of.

They even have "layered" food flavors. I think that might be a no no for a dialysis patient. One taste of it and you'll want the real thing lol. I guess any type of thing that you can do to help is worth it.

Lollipops help to allay thirst a bit, and I also find lemon juice ice blocks of assistance, and of course, hard boiled sweets as the article says.... though all of these only work for a short time - I still find myself hallucinating ice cold diet coke with huge quantities of ice and large chunks of watermelon!

reading your posts reminds me of two weeks ago. My husband chews gum for the same reason because of thirst. He went for an afternoon nap and when I went to wake him there was gum stuck to the duvet cover to the pillow slip it was all over. If he had been a child I would have smacked him. He said he had forgot it was in his mouth. it was a pain to get out. I hate the stuff.

Sort of yes, here in the US Trident and Extra have gum like that, well Trident for sure, Extra may just be a bunch of flavors put into one pies (the chocolate chip mint ice cream is awful to me)
