I received my first delivery from Fresenius yesterday...

The first picture is all the supplies except my dialisate and tubing and how they fit on a bookshelf.

The second picture is of all the 67 boxes of dialisate and tubing. They sent enough for a months supply of both manual and cycler.

JOIN THE CLUB!!    Will they allow you to do bi-weekly deliveries?  That's what I do.  I live in a two bedroom apt. and absolutely have no room anywhere, my entire bedroom wall is covered in supples!  What cycler do you use?

I will be using the liberty Cycler, but I have to do manuals until Monday, when they train me for the cycler. After this month I think the number of boxes should be cut almost in half, since this time they brought me both manuals and cycler solutions. At least I hope so cause that's just too many boxes in that little hallway. I asked the nurse about bi=weekly and she said they didn't, but I may ask the warehouse people about it sometime. I did find out from the delivery guy that the trucks are in my city two days a week, every week. So maybe they will.

Fun, isn't it? It will get better once you settle in on the cycler. I get the cycler boxes and just keep 2 boxes of manuals in case I need them. Hang in there. You'll like PD.

Does anyone know if Baxters one month's worth of supplies is equivalent to Freainius in storage space required?

Just to be clear, Atooraya, The picture above is for a two months supply of fluids. I don't know the answer to your question though.

Thanks for posting your pictures! We are about to start manual with the intention of getting on cycler. It's good to get a visual of what's involved. I have to see it to really understand the space needed.

Like he said, that's 2 months of supplies. I don't use that much space with my cycler supplies. It's actually not bad. Maybe 34 boxes of green, 4 red, 4 yellow, 2 boxes of manuals, drain bags and cassettes. I had to move the la-z-boy out of my bedroom and now it all fits.

Ahh, I did NxStage, and it looked awfully similar!  Makes me wonder what one of those "professional organizers" would do if you called one.  I'm guessing they'd faint!

when i was on pd, my basement looked like your 2nd pic (my supplies were from baxter).

i found the boxes to be a pain, so once the delivery was made, i would empty out all the bags and lay them (stacked 2-3 high) on the basement floor. 

now that i'm on home hemo, it isn't any better, as i have jugs of acid baths plus bags of saline all over the basement floor.

Baxter's boxes which holds 6 CAPD bags appear smaller than the Fresenius boxes which holds 5 CAPD bags.   The Baxter bags are smaller and are packed different than Fresenius bags

Number of boxes also depends on your prescription or how much solution you will be using nightly.

I generally get one box tubing, one box of cassettes and 32 box's of solution i mix green and yellow and i tell them what to send me not what they think i should get.  These box's each hold 2 bags 6 liters each

Also i get 6 box's of of the smaller bags 2 litre which has 6 bags per box.

The solution gets stacked about six high on one wall which is about 6 ft long.
Takes up space yes but not really two much.  About as much room as a long  dresser would take.

What i do with ALL the cardboard.

I take the box the cassettes come in.  Use that to hold all the box's the solution comes in i just break them down and lay them in the cassette box nightly as i use the solution.  Then put them out for recycling all nicely boxed so to say.

I think that they would rather only deliver once a month. I think it is cheaper to only deliever once a month, and make less trips and it saves on gas. But you should ask what they do with people who live in a apartment.
