Found your forum by accident but totally love all the support everyone gives!!
Four years ago my mom went into EndStageRenalFailure and I became her caregiver.  Many days we each want to kill the other, but so far we've reframed from doing so!!  :clap;
Did diaylsis for 3months got off for a year then back on.  That was 2 1/2 years ago.  The day I brought her home from the hospital my brother told me it was my decision to bring her home...I had to live with it.  I was 27yrs. old - always knew one day I would take care of Mom, just didn't know it would be this soon.  Life goes on and we move forward ~ that's all you can do!

A caregiver also, I've foung this to be the only place where I can keep my sanity by others letting me act insanse from time to time here. Caregiving is hard and we all know that.

Hi Walzil...

 :welcomesign; to IHD...

I too am a carer... Mum's on CAPD, has Parkinson's Disease, Essential Tremor, Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Diverticular Disease, Skin Cancer, etc...

Not easy, but nothing worthwhile is ever easy...

I know the feeling about family support, or the lack thereof... But at least when our loved ones are no longer here, we'll be able to look at our reflection in the mirror and know that we've done the 'right thing' for them!...

Keep in touch... You'll find we're a friendly lot... The others aren't as quiet, shy, and retiring as I am, but then you can't have everything!... What are you horrible lot laughing at???... I am quiet... And saintly too!!!....  :rofl;

Love to all carers....

All caregivers welcome here - plenty of them are here already.  You'll find yourself in some very good company!

Oh my gosh THANK YOU all for your amazing welcome and kind words!! They are greatly appreciated!! Just got home today from the first "vacation" we've taken in the 4years since mom got sick.  Went up to Washington to visit some family.  Mom skipped dialysis on saturday, but is doing great!! Back to the grind tomorrow!! Not looking forward to getting up early, but back to life right?!  :sarcasm;
