I couldn't shower for 2-3 months, but I healed slow.

I was told I could shower after ten days which I did. I always shower with the dessing on and change it afterwards.

I was able to shower 2 weeks after my surgery, i would shower with my dressing on, remove it in the shower, (the wet tape wasnt so sticky) washed it with antibacterial soap and then after, i air dried it and bandaged it up then i was good to go

They told me I could start showering 3 weeks after I had my catheter surgery. Geez, that was a long and horrible three weeks. I would wash my hair in the kitchen sink and then try these little sponge baths, but there's nothing like a good, long, hot shower.
That is interesting that you are showering with the dressing on, I have been taking mine off. I don't think anyone told me to, I just assumed. I wash the site with antibacterial soap, air dry and bandage it, but maybe I'll try leaving the dressing on initially. That way it's not so unprotected.

I feel like I've just been making a mess of everything since I've been here!
Shay, you haven't been making a mess of everything - you've stimulated discussion, but that's what we're best at! We're all entitled to have and share our feelings, so be sure not to take feelings that are different than yours as being 'against you' in any way!
