Hi,I live in texas with my family. My husband has been on dialysis for the past 2 years. He traveled a long road of failing kidneys to get here.Never dreamt where the road was leading. My heart goes out to all those on dialysis. The rest of the world has no idea how hard it is. I will never pass by a dialysis center again without thinking about those within with respect.

and it's amazing isnt it.......how many times many of us have passed a 'unit/center' and never batted an eye. What an amazing different world is in those places. Lots of precious lives, dealing as best they can... welcome to our little comfort zone, I hope you feel comfortable here and share some of your own experiences. I am carepartner to my hubby who is on D for a couple of years, and now home with nxStage Since january of this year.

Hi, Buena!
Dialysis is a bummer, but I'm sure glad my husband has had that option!
Lots of support here!

Welcome Buena! D. is definately an "Eye Opener". I have been caregiver to my husband also! We are doing Home Hemo with Nxstage. D. is not fun, but it is not the end of the world either!
You post as often as you want. They have a section for Caregivers also! You might find some info there that you can use!
Again,

Hi Buena. It helps to hear someone who is not on dialysis recognizes that it is a tough road. It is sad to say but I'd rather have the healthy respect for me of doing this day after damn day then for someone to discount it as "no big deal". Them are fight'en words.
I hope you find the support you need here. Talk your husband into checking out this site. He could learn a thing or two.
Glad you found us.
