Update...

The 2010 Freedom Cruise - Dialysis at Sea has started.

The Freedom Cruise is a Western Caribbean Cruise on the Carnival Valor - January 4, 2010 through January 10, 2009

There is a group of 27 Dialyzors on Nxstage along with their Caregivers/Family who have set sail. This just shows that even those on dialysis can Travel, not on land, but by sea.

For photos and videos of the cruise, visit:

http://www.nxstageusers.com/2010cruise

We will try to update photos as they come in to us strait from the Cruise.
You can also visit http://www.billpeckham.com for another great souce of updates on the cruise.
NxStage has given many the Independance they would not have otherwise.

I've been following Bill Peckhams adventures on the cruise. He even shows how he stored all his supplies.  Looks like a great time for all of them.

Hi.  I am great.

I'm headed to DC in March to lobby RE: PKD & Dialysis.  It has been one heck of a ride. I've been pretty involved with the NKF, and that has been interesting to say the least. I am back to school next week, working on changing the world (at least my corner of it).

Other than that, I am taking my immunosuppressives, looking at my fistula every day when I get dressed and thanking a higher power that IHD exists (maybe not EVERY day).

There were 11 or 12 NxStage Dialyzors that went with their parnters and family. Everyone had a great time and no problems. Bill did a great job blogging.
There are pictures doing up weekly at www.nxstageusers.com/2010cruise if anyone is interested. NxStageUsers has already started planning for the next event that will be towards the end of the year.

I wish this cruise was going out of NY, NJ or MD.  I still have not been able to bring myself to fly and driving to CA. is out of the question.  Would love to go on a cruise with other NxStage users.  Maybe we can set a cruise up for the east coast in the future.  I would be willing to work on setting one up if anyone is interested.

Hi vcarmody,

Unfortunately, you missed the 2010 NxStageUsers Freedom Cruise. This cruise was out of Florida.  We are having another event later in October in New Orleans.  not a cruise, but there were be many on nxstage and prominent nephrologits and other docs and those on NxStage speaking. We are also planning other events to get together to hang out with others..  Here is a link to the 2011 Meet-Up and Conference in New Orleans.....
