Another night, Alarm!!!!

Dang, for the second night in a row, this Liberty machine gave me the Systen Error red screen alarm.  When I called support again in the wee hours, they said to turn it off and cancel treatment.  Shoot, things were going pretty well for a whole week, after having to get a new machine.  The other one was saying "Cassette undetected" or something......    I am starting to wonder if I will ever get a night's sleep, and full dialysis. 

Thanks, just needed to VENT!!!!  Now I shall go to sleep, not hooked up to any machine for the night.

Goodness Gracious, you are really having a time with this. I hope you get a good nights sleep tonight. Tomorrow is another day, dear!

I hear ya!  I had so many alarms and problems with the Liberty that I refused to use it and am doing hand exchanges only now.  I had 3 and a half years on my Baxter Home Choice machine with no problems....  I hate Fresenius!

OH gosh, again with this crap last night, on the phone for an hour on support for the third night in a row.  They finally, after all their diagnostics, have decided to send me yet a THIRD machine today.  My PD clinic director said that no one else has had these problems, so I am HOPING that tonight I can get through with no alarms. It's taking all I can do to keep choosing to not get discouraged.  I would love to GET A LIFE back. 

At least on Friday night I had some excitement before the alarms went off.  A big black bear was in the back of the house, knocking down the woodpile, trying to get to a bird feeder.  It's still light until late, so I was able to watch him.....  then yesterday there were moose wandering through yet yard, and I was able to get my Stellar Jay to sit on my hand and eat....  that was lovely. 

Ok, back to manual exchanges.....  gah.

A big black bear was in the back of the house, knocking down the woodpile, trying to get to a bird feeder.  It's still light until late, so I was able to watch him.....  then yesterday there were moose wandering through yet yard, and I was able to get my Stellar Jay to sit on my hand and eat....  that was lovely. 

Yikes!  It's bad enough that I have to watch other people's cats wander through my garden ... how do you cope knowing there is such amazing (and scary) wildlife around you?!  I'd freak out about leaving the house!

I hope your nights soon become alarm free once again.  What a nightmare.

Oh Poppy, I am much more at home around animals than with the city wild life.  The black bears are shy, and if you are careful around them, they are beautiful to watch.  As soon as we go out on the deck, they usually take off.  I think that they are more fearful of us than we of them.

Wow, if I could just get out of the city.  I love hills, forrest and beautiful mountain sides.  To me that is God's country! I have always wanted to live in Ridgeway, Colorado, what an majestic place. Anybody live there knows why!  It is beautiful beyond belief!

So back to subject at hand, are you doing cycler and manual both?  We had the IQ cycler. Wow, it seems like eternity when he was on PD, but it's only been a couple years.  We didn't have any problems with alarms, but we did with the pump. We replaced it a couple times in about 5 years.  I think they called it the Newton IQ.

Maybe it will get better for you now!

Thanks Imunchkin, I think it surely will get better.   

You know, living in Alaska, it gets cold and dark in the winter and even now, the leaves are only starting to bud open, so we are way behind everyone else.  But a couple years ago when I went into kidney failure, I realized that I was going to have to work hard at depression so I decided I wouldn't complain about the weather (like that helps?) and would try to look for beauty every day.  It's really been helping.  Once you accept things "as they are" instead of wishing for something else.....  it's pretty awesome.  That's not to say that I don't have my bad days, nor have spent some times grieving the loss of health....  but yes, there's always beauty, and I do love wilderness.

My father & mother lived in Alaska due to Military! Of course it was before I was born!  They talked about it alot, and said one day they were going to move there to live.  But after 8 kids and going over seas and back to the States, they never got the chance! 

I think Alaska is one of the prettiest states in the Union. Iam also partial to colder weather.  When it snowed in our state, I thought I was in HOG HEAVEN.  I have seen the documentary's on Sarah Palin's Alaska, and it really is breathe-taking by the pictures they show.

All I can do is Dream, huh? Guess that is better than nothing! Hope your night is better tonight!
