Hey all,
Well Thursday and Friday I was in the hospital do to a 100 degree fever and high blood pressure. They took my permcath out which was ready to come out anyways. They ran cultures and they all came back negative. However my neph still put me on vanko but we can't figure out why since there's nothing there being treated. My dialysis nurses checked with him because since it wasn't treating anything they didn't want me to become antibiotic resistant but he still wants me to take them. Any reason why? I just don't see the point if it's not treating anything.

I suppose he figures that there must be SOMETHING since you are running a fever....

But, without knowing more, it would be hard to say.

Hope you are feeling better, though.

This happened to my husband last November, he had a cloudy bag, went to hospital, they did the normal bloods and took samples of the bag and gave him  antibiotics every day for about a week. He had no other symptoms only a slight fever. There was no growth on the culture test they did, it had them puzzeled they like to know some thing is going on, but they said some times this happens.
