Hi everyone, has anyone dialysed in Barbados?
I am hoping to go on holiday there this year. As I am from the UK I will have to fund it, no insurance to pay for it. I read that some centres in the US charge extra for dressings etc. I have a tesio line and hope that does not prevent me from having dialysis outside the UK. Any advice or tips would be very welcome.
Thanks
PS is there any form of insurance in the UK which pays for dialysis sessions abroad??

in Barbadoes is a great centre. I have heard that NHS will sponser 1 trip a year.
The cost is $320 US per treatment.
Hope that helps.

Thank you for this information. I had not heard about the NHS sponsoring trips outside of the EC.
All the best.

I have dialysed several times in Barbados. I have dialysed at Island Dialysis and will be doing so again in June, and I have no complaints.
