Thanks to LarryG, I too posted an Ad on craigslist. A simple Ad explaining my situation and if people are interested to donate, can contact me through email. I did get a few responses and all of them have been thinking about donating a kidney for awhile.  I have requested them to contact my transplant center for the next steps. At this point it doesnt matter if they are a match or not, but to know there are people out there how would want to donate their kidney to a stranger is a B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L thing.

I know everyone of us have different views about posting on craigslist for a kidney but I think if people didn’t know I need a kidney how will they come forward if they are interested. For things like organ donation one cannot force people. It can only happen if they are really really willing to donate.

My family members came forward to test but they weren’t a match. But when I think about strangers coming forward to donate it is just amazing.

For all those organ donors especially altruistic donors – “You ROCK!”. :2thumbsup;

MakeMyDay,

When my husband got listed, his transplant center offered to give him a class on how to ask for donations. He is a very unassuming person and declined the class. I would have been on it like a shot!

Several people (including me) stepped forward to offer him a kidney, but for a variety of reasons (all were matches), it did not work out.

I really admire and appreciate those who even SAID they were willing, even if they did not get as far as the testing. It really does restore one's faith in humanity to see how giving people can be.
 :cuddle;

I hope your ad will do the trick for you.

 :cheer:

Just heard that the transplant center has asked one of the donors to come in for donor evaluations. Keeping my fingers crossed.  :pray;
