Four times a day manuals are a pain, so I prefer the cycler, 7 1/2 hours at night. Hopefully, while I sleep. The problem i'm having is drain pain which wakes me up 3 times at night. It seems the placement of the catheter was so GOOD, that I get uninhibited suction on drain and feel it during the last 200 cc's. or so. And with the cycler, you can't control how hard it sucks... and it SUCKS.

I'm a 58 year old Family doctor with Alport's syndrome. I've been on PD for almost a year. I've been on transplant list since May 2010 at three centers, Michigan, Cleveland, and Indiana. My brother has the same disease and is on his second transplant for about 12 years now.

The pain may subside in time. It took two months with manuals and about a week after the cycler. But every body is different.
