Definitely a first for me. I have never sought support, let alone an online forum. But this really caught my eye.   I am a care partner for my Dad who is on home hemodialysis. We have been at it for 2 and 1/2 years. Quite a challenge. He was a newbie when we started (never been in-center)  then got real sick (sepsis) due to  a delay in starting treatment after the catheter was placed and we nearly lost him. Now it is better but he still has a central line catheter.  Murtiple attempts at fistula have failed.  I work full time in a pretty high stress field and 5 days of 3 hourHHD  treatments is hard. But my Dad is worth it. I seek a forum to talk to other caregivers, patients and families especially HHD. I look forward to "meeting" new people.

You have come to the right place Homepartner!

I was a HHD partner for my husband for a bit more than 2 1/2 years. We used NxStage. What do you use?

They came and took our dear machine away after my husband got a transplant about 6 weeks ago.

We both work and with home hemo, my husband was able to keep up our hectic schedule.

You'll meet lots of nice folks here.

Good luck with the transplant! What a great way to say good bye to the machine. We are on NxStage and very satisfied. Dad is not a transplant candidate so our machine is truly the only life line.  I pray that in the future that neither of our families will ever need one.
Thanks for posting
