On four occasions, we have gotten a Red 601 during priming.  We follow the directions in the book, but always have to start with fresh tubing and saline.

NxStage is switching out the machine and has advised us not to use the machine.  I am hesitant to follow this advice, as it always functions well after replacing the supplies.  This would also be an additional skip day.

 Anyone else have suggestions?

Have they told you when they plan to deliver the new machine?

I know that we had seriously weird issues one Sunday night about 8 or so, and we told tech support that he had been sufficiently dialyzed for the day when I had to stop treatment, and I'm pretty sure a new machine was being delivered to our house by 10 that same evening.

Call back and ask for a delivery estimate, and mention your concerns.

It will arrive tomorrow morning and be delivered at 5 due to our schedules.

Our dialysis nurse said not to risk it and husband is excited to have a day off :/

Follow the directions form your team....

NxStage was always very prompt at getting the new machines to us.

I would advise you to record all the settings form your current machine, though, so you can put them into your new one. It may come preset differently than the one you now have.

Best wishes,

Aleta
