My name is Nathaniel. I'm not one to go into much of a life story unless you are interested, in which case you may feel free to ask and I will elaborate and fill you in on all of my "fun-filled" antics. :bandance;

Been married to a wonderful woman for about 10 years now. We have 4 boys; Micah - 4, Noah - 5, Jacob - 8 and Jeremiah - 13. They are homeschooled.

I was diagnosed with Alports Syndrome when I was 14. I received my first transplant at 16. Went on Hemo Dialysis last November, and will now be training for my very first time on PD tomorrow morning after 1 more round of hemo.

I look forward to getting to know some of you and hope that we all can benefit from one anothers experience.

Regards,
Nathaniel

Oh, you'll find PLENTY of people here who are eager to learn from you and to share their experiences at the same time.  Welcome to IHD, and I hope you post often.  I'd love to hear more about your life outside of dialysis.

Hello and welcome. I am the caregiver to my husband only dialysis about 4 years. He goes in center. Personally I like that for US because he is checked out by the nurses each time he goes. I feel safer and more secure with that. He's not the greatest at taking care of himself. I come here for support and education as a dialysis patient or with anyone with a chronic illness effects the whole family. I've seen others who are on PD as well and I'm positive they wil have some great advice for you. There is also a special section on the boards here for that. If you haven't read through it I'm sure there's lots you'll learn. I believe that I've seen some members who are on PD say that with doing that, they are able to be a little more liberal about the renal diet. I would double check but I'm sure you'll like that fact lol. I have never heard of Alports Syndrome. If I'm reading correctly you had your transplant 16 and started dialysis last Novemeber. Is there a possibilty of another TP? Nice meeting you
