HI. i',M Taylor 814,named after my guitar.I've been on dialysis for a month now, after managing to avoid it for the last year and a half.I've been really healthy most of my life and come from a healthy family, but got really sick awhile ago and was diagnosed with lupus nephritis. Now it's 3 times a week on a machine to stay alive, and life can sure kick you in the butt.I live in Victoria b.c. Canada. We have a really good system here for renal patients and I feel really lucky to live here.I'm on long term disability from my job,and have lot's of time to research things.I've been a musician for years and practice around 4 hours a day, which keeps me going and after having breakdowns for a while, wondering where your life is going,I'm feeling much more positive.I feel better after a month of dialysis, and hope for positive things.I'm glad to stumble onto this site to read about other people in the same boat, and look forward to connecting with people.Hello to all fellow dialysis patients.

Glad you found us!  I'm pretty new here, too.  But, not new to ESRD and dialysis.  I do PD, three and half years now.  Glad you're here and glad you get some time to be with your music!

Going through life tied to a chair!

Hello Taylor814 and welcome to IHD.  I'm so glad you joined us.  I use to play a 12 string guitar when John Denver was popular but I was too shy to ever play in front of anyone.  Keep playing as I'm sure it is healing to your soul.  If you have questions or just want to vent about your new changed life come here.  We understand!

Glad you found us Taylor.  I think you will like it here. Great information and incredible people who are very supportive.  Music soothes the soul, right?  It helps me through tough spots, but I don't play - just listen.    :2thumbsup;    Hope you post often so we can learn more about you and your story.  Welcome to IHD.
