Hi everyone,

I'm on APD and have been for the best part of two years.  Doing pretty well on it.  Encountering more problems as time goes on, but all manageable so far.  Have been listed for transplant since August 2009.  Not sure how long I'll be waiting for the call.  I was told it would probably be two years, but deceased donors plummeted here last year, so I expect it'll be longer now.  I'm 28 years old, and was diagnosed three years ago with IgA Nephropathy.

That's it really!

Hello ReginaH!  I am a newbie to the group too.  Like you, I have IGA Nepropathy and was diagnosed when I was 28. I'm 40 now and just started dialysis at the end of January - my intake appointment at the transplant center is on Feb. 28th.

Welcome!

Hi, ReginaH and  :welcomesign; to IHD.

Do they know why live donors in your area plummeted last year? What changed?

Good health is just the slowest possible rate at which you can die.
