Today is our two month anniversary of having our machine home.  We get the call that Hopkins has found a kidney for Hammett and the procedure will take place in a week and a half.  He leaves Tuesday or Wednesday to prepare for plasmapheresis.  He would be inpatient on Saturday and have the transplant on Monday.

Should we take the machine or return to in center while in Baltimore? We would be flying and do not have a case.  Our center ordered a case to loan to patients, but it is on back order.

I also am trying to research the rate immunosuppression will dialyzize out on daily home hemo verses in center.

Those are questions best answered by your transplant team and your dialysis center.

When Carl got his kidney the transplant team told us to hang onto our NxStage machine, but our clinic needed it back for training a new couple. So a week after TX, the clinic picked it up.

And CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

Hopkins suggested in center. We will have to bring our own blunt needles on the plane.  It depends on the flow cross match which day we need to go and how many pheresis treatments he will need. He will be inpatient on Saturday.

NxStage was not very helpful regarding fluid.  Our center has fluid on hand if we got in a bind.
