cystoscopy - light put in bladder

Hubby has been having a little bit of blood so the doc decided to do a cystoscopy. He had it done last Fri and everything went well but he saw something that looked like a polyp on the back of his bladder. I talked to the urologist after and he said he doesn't think it is anything serious but he needs to do a biopsy anyway.Urologist thinks it may be scarring from water infections. Hubby has to go back on Jan. 19 to have day surgery to have this done. he is scared to death of having it done. I wish he had to go back tomorrow - less time for him to worry!!

Oh Del, of course he is nervous about this. Who wouldn't be? And I'm sure you are worried for him. I'll be praying this turns out to be nothing and we'll all have a laugh out of it in January. Take care and sending you a hug.
You CAN share it with hubby.

Awww, bless him. I hope he can try and put it to the back of his mind (difficult, I know!) and enjoy the festive season.
*huggles* for both of you.

it's long enough away that it will slip his mind at least for a while. I get so sad about these things because we'ed think that D is enough to deal with. Cant that other garb just stay out of our lives
I hope for the best and pray for comfort and peace and healing...

Easy to say dont worry, but hard to do. Hope he can at least block it out of his mind and enjoy some of Dec. anyways.

He had his surgery on Mon Jan 17 and is doing well. Had quite a bit of bleeding for the first couple of days - mostly because he doesn't pee and couldn't flush out his bladder. When he called the surgeon to ask if the bleeding was normal he told hubby to drink lots to flush his bladder -DUH!!! Bleeding has stopped now, thankfully!!! Mentally he has had issues but he is doing much better.

Good to hear! My husband has bladder issues and occasional blood as well.
He had a biopsy as well. At the time, the urologist was certain he had cancer, but it was just irritation. The worst part is the catheter and flush afterwards. Muscle relaxers were a life saver!

Girl meets boy with transplant, falls in love and then micromanages her way through the transplant and dialysis industry. Three years, two transplant centers and one NxStage machine later, boy gets a kidney at Johns Hopkins through a paired exchange two months after evaluation. Donated kidney in June and went back to work after ten days.
