Last year I finally (with some help from family) got a nice little 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo with a 1car garage. Before I moved in I was watching the DIY channel for some time. It's too funny how it takes me 6 months to do what they seem to finish in a half hour!!  LOL. I'm currently knee deep in two YES two projects. I'm almost finished redoing my master bathroom. It is small so I scrapped the old vanity for an IKEA space saver bad thought it would be east. HA!  Turned out tile floor was not done well and no tile under vanity so I ripped up the floor and tiled put in the vanity did all the plumbing and finished the backsplash on side wall now I need to get motivated to finish the backsplash on the facing wall find a lighting solution and hang the doors. But I've have since side tracked myself trying to spruce up kitchen it's all white and just dies not match my taste or rest of condo. So I took the crappy tile backslash down and looking into painting cabinets and doors and figure out what to do about countertops. They are junk too. I purchased a farm house style stainless steel sink and faucet combo on overstock.com for a great deal but I know it will be very hard to install. Hoping I can keep original sink cabinet and modify!  I really wish I could just finish one thing at a time!  Probably ADD!!

I don't know if I'm that motivated.. *L* but I have been wondering lately what the landlord would think if I painted the wall next to my bed with chalkboard paint so that when I got bored I could just draw on the wall...

I love that IWOH!!!  Funny. Thankfully mine place is only 10 years old. Built in the booming construction time down here in florida. I picked it up really really cheap but it was old lady colors and well old lay everything. Before I moved in I had it painted in my colors from ceilings to every wall including painting all doors trim nothing was left of the old colors!!  Is the a good tutorial on posting pics. I need to scan read that quick and then ill post pics!!  It sure keeps me busy but that is good!!

It is easy to add pic's.  Just hit reply, then look a little below the reply box and you will see the "attach box". You just have to have your pictures on your pc ready for upload.  They like us to use small "ish" pictures to save b-witdh so youmay have to resize down.  If an IWOC like me can do it, thats (Idiots with old cameras) anyone should be able to...

Good luck.. :pics;

Our house is 1927! It's charming, but needs new roof, pipes, paint and carpet, but other than that it's great!   :P

Mine was built in 1949, so not so terribly old, but old enough to have a whole slew of desperately needed upgrades! The last owner did nothing but rip up carpet (likely because he trashed it) and make a mess of the place.  The owner before that was the woman who bought the place with her husband when it was new and they were just starting a family post-war.  At the age she was when she sold it, I'm guessing she thought the kitchen upgrade in 1981 was probably recent enough.  My grandmother was like that as she got older - 30 year old upgrades were "just done."  Boy, oh boy, do I wish she'd left me a retro kitchen and installed windows instead, though!  These original single pane double-hungs aren't exactly warm in Michigan winters.  There is a set of storms that look to be from the 70's, which certainly help, but not nearly enough.

Love the color scheme!  I can never understand anyone who wants all white walls.  It's just so bland and boring!

Yea white is boring!!  It's a man cave so lots of blue, silver and grey. My painter thought I was bonkers and it would be too dark and make rooms look small but when it was done she actually took pictures and said it worked out amazing!!  I picked all the colors myself and did most of prep work for paint and put everything back up myself. Saved a bundle. Since I had just bought it and it was still empty I had ceilings and all trim painted too and added the quarter round to baseboards. It really does not even look like the same place I bought!!  It's small but it's perfect for just me. It's a full 2 bedroom 2 bathroom and has a small one car garage.
