2010 Christmas Gifts From Your Center
«

This year wasn't half bad. We got a bag with DSI (their logo) on it which I will give to the Mission and a magnifying glass which I would use but I already have one and me and my firends all turn 50 this year so it will be regifted. Then my Nephrologist gave us all a card, a backscratcher and a lotto ticket which I won a dollar.
What did the Dialysis Santa bring you???

Mine gave us lunch boxes with food dividers that includes the utensils and a cold pack, nice little gift and I can use it quite often. Ho! Ho! Ho! I gave them all candy, they loved it.

I got the same lunch box. Mine had a little stuffed snowman inside. They also sang karaoke. They had patients, care givers and staff singing Christmas songs. It was pretty funny for the most part. One of our office staff sings professionally and was incredible. She really has a beautiful voice. They also served us chicken salad sandwiches on croissants.

the nocturnal shift hasn't done anything yet, although the unit has given us gifts in past years. but then our next run is saturday night. yes i know that's christmas but apparently there are enough people who want to go to christmas eve mass that they juggled it that way. not a problem for me, because of family obligations we did our presents and very nice dinner on the 19th. and friends are having a christmas eve party and now i can go.

Tonight at the nocturnal shift we are supposed to take a snack so I'm taking pickel wraps..... You wrap ham and cream cheese around a pickel and I found tiny tiny dills. Eating one will be okay. Then we are to bring a gift and we will draw numbers or something. I'll tell more when it has happened.

I just made fudge with my son to bring in for the staff tomorrow. We made a couple extras. He wanted one for his best friends grandmother.

Last night at dialysis we each brought a present and then drew numbers for them. I got a movie night (movie, popcorn, Dots, and pop) that was cool and then the nurse brought in mugs with candy and I got to pick one and then she brought in her Espresso maker and made us a drink if we wanted and then we all brought in snacks. To bad we couldn't do that every night!

When I turned up to dialysis on Wednesday, they had quite a little feast for us! Samples of traditional tarts, sandwiches, little plate with chicken and carrot sticks, little plate of mixed fruit. And sparkling flavoured water.

We got some cookies, apple juice, candy cane and a fun size York peppermint patties. We also got a company calendar book(Fresenius). The mariachi singer who sings for the entire unit wasn't able to sing to us this year, he spent Christmas with his family in another town.

Blokey received toiletries. And a snifter of whisky, plus snacks. He was quite happy with that.

We had a very nice bar-b-q at the centre. The staff brought in many home-made deliciously decadent desserts, and I sampled them all.

The center gave my father a DSI bag also and they had a nice set up for foods/drinks....he ended up sick and in the ER and couldn't eat any of it. But he's starting to feel better now. What he really wanted was the shrimp and shrimp cocktail display so I'll have to get him some once we know it will stay in.

We got what I thought was a blanket but turned out to be a snuggie with the FMC logo, and in the raffle I won a gift basket with Nepro (ugh), a mug, some cookies, some lotion, a pen, a Renvela carrying case, etc. I love the fact that all year they tell us not to eat sodium, but they put out snacks with of all things, Doritos, Fritos, Cheetos and Sun Chips. That plus colas. Amazing!

We got goodies, including a lot of stuff one does not usually eat, and whiskey and wine if you wanted. I had apple juice and nice tart and a bit of chocolate. I gave the staff 4 dozen pens as they are always losing them and candy. Christmas music on the radio. It was nice.
