Aloha from the 808 State!
You would think that they would  make dialysis centers here in HAWAII with BIG picture windows overlooking a BEAUTIFUL beach or a senic view of the LUSH Island mountain range lol we're trapped in buildings far from the beach nowhere near the mountains and with only a couple of windows overlooking some buildings  ??? On February 2, 2011 It will be 10 years that I've been back on dialysis.  Here's the break down!

1999            Started Peretonieal Dialysis
2000            Kidney Transplant
2001            Transplant Failed
2001-2006     Peretonieal Dialysis
2006-Present Hemodialysis

So in all I've been around Dialysis for about 12 years and I still Hate Dialysis!

Hi Dialygal and welcome to IHD where we all HATE dialysis.  And...what's up with no view in Hawaii?  Can you guys stage a "sit in" or something?   :rofl;  At least they could paint a mural on the wall to fake it!   :welcomesign;

Hello dialygal808  and welcome to IHD.  February 2...?  Isn't that Groundhog's Day?  Kind of the same thing day after day!   :rofl;

Why is Hawaii the 808 state?  I'll have to look that up.  I'm so glad you found us.  At least when you get out of dialysis you can GO to the beach.  I get out and have to shovel 2 feet of snow off my car before I can go home!  I'd like to come visit!   :angel;

Glad you joined!

G'day and welcome to IHD, dialygal808!!!

 :welcomesign;

Yes, it seems strange they would not provide a more restful and inspiring atmosphere in your unit. What I had been doing, ironically, is I would wait for my Sat afternoon shift and get on the machine and watch an episode of Hawaii Five-O to transport me away to somewhere warm and sunny and full of bikini babes!!!  :rofl;

Good to have you with us!

 :welcomesign; to IHD Dialygal808, I know there are a lot of IHDers that would like change locations with you. :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; Especially those who step out of the clinic and into some bitterly cold winds.
