OLD FART PRIDE  :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;

I'm passing this on as I did not want to be the only old fart receiving it. Actually, it's not a bad thing to be called, as you will see. Old Farts are easy to spot at sporting events; during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner (or O Canada ). Old Farts remove their caps and stand at attention and sing without embarrassment.  They know the words and believe in them.

Old Farts remember World War II, Pearl Harbor,  Guadalcanal , Normandy  and Hitler. They remember the Atomic Age, the Korean War, The Cold War, the Jet Age and the Moon Landing. They remember the 50 plus Peacekeeping Missions from 1945 to 2005, not to mention  Vietnam  .

If you bump into an Old Fart on the sidewalk he will apologize. If you pass an Old Fart on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a lady. Old Farts trust strangers and are courtly to women.

Old Farts hold the door for the next person and always, when walking, make certain the lady is on the inside for protection.

Old Farts get embarrassed if someone curses in front of women and children and they don't like any filth or dirty language on TV or in movies.

Old Farts have moral courage and personal integrity. They seldom brag unless it's about their children or
grandchildren.

It's the Old Farts who know our great country is protected, not by politician's, but by the young men and women in the military serving their country.

This country needs Old Farts with their work ethic, sense of responsibility, pride in their country and decent values.

We need them now more than ever.

Thank God for Old Farts!

Pass this on to all the "Old Farts" you know.

I was taught to respect my elders.

It's just getting harder to find them.

I'm 70 this year, but I'm far too rude and irreverent to be an Old Fart. I'm not nice enough.  ;D

Been on dialysis 3 years. Had a transplant that lasted 22 years. Didn't have any problems with medications. Antibodoes built up and rejected it, they have new meds, for that now. Back on the list. Living day to day.

TOFF (typical old Fart)

I'm 75 and I stand up for Advance Australia Fair and tear up every time.
I think the good best thing that has ever happened to was my wife
The better best my two daughters
The best best my four grandchildren
I remember World War II and being taught at primary school how to run and jump into a slit trench when the teacher blew a whistle
This despite the fact we lived in the country 100 miles from the nearest city
I feel blessed to be Australia
I think women make our world go round, not men
I think the first duty and measure of a man is to love and protect his family

Yes, I'm very definitely an old fart...but I was a young fart once.

Before I left Chicago I had the privilege of going to a barber shop that had Old Farts as barbers. The youngest barber and regulars age was around 78. All except for 1 of the regulars served in WWII, He served in Korea. They gave a pretty good haircut when I was finished. A couple of months later when my nephew was on leave from serving on the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier I told him about the barber shop and he said he needed to visit a barber because its been over a month since he had his hair cut. We both went there and he requested it high and tight. During that time they all talk about being in the service now and back then. I enjoyed siting glued to my chair hearing all their stories. After he was finished he looked in the mirror and told him that it was the best haircut he's had. When we finally was ready to leave he gave the barber about $30 for tip, the barber said it was too much and my nephew said well buy a round of donuts and coffee for them. I am hoping that next time I go to Chicago that the Old Fart's barber shop is still open, the barber mentioned that he was going to retired soon.

P.S. Honor the Old Farts who served in WWII by giving or helping with the Honor Flight Service Program. They fly WWII veterans to the WWII memorial in Washington D.C. I think there is a chapter in every state.

Now I'm an Old Fart I remember fondly of when I was just a Fart but here's some advice. If you feel a fart brewing just let it rip. If you don't it will only return later and by being an old fart will make it far more smelly than it would have been by not giving birth to it right away thus giving our euphemistic name a bad reputation. :sir ken;
