Congratulations on getting your pager John I thought you might like to hear about when I got mine. In the UK, renal units don't normally handout pagers! it was only because my unit was donated 20 by a mobile phone co. When I was given one, I was told that no-one but the unit had my no. so, if it ring's it's US! I was really pleased, because I had already booked a weekend break in the North west Highlands (very remote!).On the Saturday night, my pager ALARMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!but, the problem was I didn't reckonise or understand the number?I tried ringing this strange sequence of numbers, but, the line was dead, I then phoned my renal unit and they had no idea why this should happen!!! all they knew was it wasn't them...I read out the number and one of the nurses thought she reconised it! and she had. It was the National Lottery Numbers (a free service from the mobile phone company) I just wish someone would have warned me.
