I have been on Hemo for about 5 months and I was miserable all the time. My fistula arm was swollen because of central stenosis and vascular access team could not fix it. I used to have one sided headache during dialysis and was always washed out after the treatment.

I made the decision to move to PD. Placed the Catheter on Nov 11th. Went for initial flushing after 10 days. I was able to fill in but not drain; Darn!

So went it for surgery again to reposition the tube. Waited for a week and started the training. Since then things have been very smooth. I just couldn't be any happier. I can drink more fluids, my potassium level is great.  :cheer:

I know some people love Hemo better than PD but in my case its just the opposite.

Hello makemyday,
I am doing the same thing. Been on hemo for 2yrs and just had catheter placed on nov 11 also. You moved along pretty quick. I had my last flushing today. Wont start training till dec 13. Had 4 mondays of flushing. Training is suppose to be 2 weeks. How did you get started so quick?

@Denise: Since I had problems with my fistula, my doctor wanted me to start the training ASAP. I wish you all the best.
