Hi everyone,
I know it's been awhile since I've been on here.I have some news for everyone.I tried to do this sooner, but I can't type without crying.
My mom passed away earlier this month. It was totally unexpected, and it's been completely devastating. She had been in the hospital for awhile with a staph infection in her graft. They removed a section of her graft and we thought everything was ok.She fought the good fight and had to put up with a lot of crap from some people, but she made it on dialysis for 4 years.I love her with all my heart and will miss her always.

I lost my mom in July; it was unexpected, too. I am so sorry; I can well imagine how you are feeling, and there are few sadder things in the world than losing your mom. I am glad you've posted so that we can give you our sincerest condolences.

I am sooo sorry for your mother and for you having to cope with her loss.
I had a MRSA infection in my graft in April, so her story hits me where I live. I am lucky, my surgeon took the entire graft out and hit me for nine days with some serious antibiotics to clear the MRSA infection. I have had anew fistula put in since and they are very careful to hit me with antibiotics whenever the work on me.

Oh SkyDancer, I am so sorry to hear this. You and your mom had such a special relationship. You took great care of her and even though the dialysis was tough on her, she was lucky to have your help and devotion. Sending you hugs, so sorry about your loss.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.I know it's going to take probably the rest of my life to get through my grief. It's been especially hard because I was her caregiver and couldn't do anything to help her in the end.I hope that all will understand if I don't post or return here very often,it's just too hard.
Thank you all for your support and kindness since I joined IHD.You have all been a big help with alot of dialysis issues for me and my mom. Also,I've had a few laughs and tears with you all.Take care and God Bless everyone! I hope that everyone stays healthy and happy even if you do have to go through or care for someone on dialysis.

Oh Skydancer, my heart is with you as I also know what you are feeling. I lost my mom three and a half years ago and I is still hard. I am not sure that youever really get over losing your mom, but know that she will always be with you and that the love that you shared is the best love int he world.
Remember all that was good and try and forget all of the hard times, remember her laugh and let that guide you thought the next few months.
