For about three years, my HB has been so high (140 +) that I have had no need for EPO. I have always wondered why and I think I have finally have the solution. It also means that my iron is constantly low as with such a high blood count, my body could not take any iron. Recently, I have had a fistula repair job due to it being clogged. Apparently, I have been too diligent with my fluid restriction. My neph must have done research as he has informed me this same restriction of fluid has had the same effect on my HB. For a while, it puzzled him as well. He organized two scans for cysts and 'threw the lines' at hemo. But to not avail. His final words to me at the last clinic were: "don't forget to drink".
