What a week! On Sat. I came in with 1.8 kg. on. After treatment the machine said that I pulled 2.2 kg. When I weighed, the scale said that I had pulled only .8 kg. so I left with 1 kg still on. At this point, I thought there was a fluke in calculation somewhere. Over the weekend I gained 3.5 kg plus the 1 had left over so a total of 4.5 kgs on. I told them to pull 4kgs and had no problems. After treatment it said that I had pulled the 4 kgs. When I weighed, however the scale said I had pulled only .5 kgs. and I had a fit right there on the scale...demanding to know what was going on with my machine. The nurse really had no answer. She believed I misread my beginning weight, but I was positive I hadn't. I keep a list of all my fluid intake so I know pretty accurately how much I'm going to weigh before treatment.  I left very upset. When I weighed this morning, I was up 6.7 kgs! The nurse told me that they replaced my machine because the person on the 2nd shift had the exact same problem as I did....it pulled only a fraction of the desired amount. With all the tests the machine runs, isn't there something to notify them if it's not pulling the correct amt. of fluid? Luckily today I was able to pull 5 kgs, so I'm only 2kgs. over now and hope to get down to my target weight next week. And to make the week even better  :sarcasm; they infiltrated me on Saturday and on Monday, I went in for a fistulagram. Here's hoping for a better week......
