We're running on our own with Billy (Our SystemOne cycler) and his sidekick PFSL; our trainer has set us free. Doing home hemo has been relatively easy for us --- except for the decannulating part. On days when Sheila's BP is lower, it's 100% easy, hold pressure, apply clean dressing and tape. Last night, the tape wasn't holding well and the venous needle got accidentally pulled out out of her fistula b4 we were ready for it
when we were removing the arterial side. Needless, to say, it was a bloody mess. I don't think she lost more than 30ml in the ensuing chaos (we called EMS just in case) but does this part ever get easy?
