I just went to Cabelas to shop and have lunch with my sister.  It's the coolest store.  They have a trout stream that winds through the store, and this big mountain with animals on it, and rooms where you can go and see all kinds of animals and fish.

It's very, very popular here, it opened about a year ago.  We had the prime rib sandwiches for lunch, they were delicious.  Here's a link to where their stores are:

Anyone else like Cabelas?  I heard the stores are very popular everywhere, but they're definitely for an outdoor type of person.  They have a lot of cool stuff, if you like outdoor activities.

Lately it occurs to me what a long, strange trip it’s been.

That store ought to come with warning labels.  "Caution: No Exit!"  All the men in my family are fanatics about hunting and camping - if they go in, they NEVER come out!

Sounds cool -- haven't been there but have been to the Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, MO and we LOVED it!!  Great place to go for lunch and spend the rest of the day looking and shopping.  The huge freshwater largemouth bass were so eye-catching.  Every time I walked past I had to stop to just watch for a few minutes.

The closet one to us would be about 7-8 hours away, but maybe one day.   :)

My sister has one where she lives near Wheeling, West Virginia.  It's a great store even you're just going to browse and look at everything.  They're going to build one right next to me in East Rutherford, NJ.  They're going to redevelop the Meadowlands Area in NJ so it'll be nice to have one around here also.

Glitter, Isn't that the truth!  I remember when I was a kid my uncles and my dad just loved Cabela's catalog.  When they heard they were building a store in Utah, they were so excited, they could hardly wait for it to open.

It is a fun store, even if you're not the outdoor type.  They have a lot of cool stuff.  And a lot of nice, rugged outdoor-type guys shop there, which is a bonus!  :2thumbsup;
