Born to be a Granma!

« on: July 28, 2010, 07:19:40 PM »

I have a sore spot on my tummy just near my belly button. No swelling or bruising, just a tender spot. Am panicking and thinking I may have given myself a hernia - have had my gorgeous granddaughters home for a few days and how can I not pick them up for cuddles?! :oops; Before I ring and ask the medical people I thought I'd ask IHD. I feel good apart from the sore spot and it's not in the 'tunnel' or at my exit site, so am hoping it is just muscular. The grandies only weigh 10-12kg and I never lift them with fluid in - I thought that was what I had to be careful to avoid. Any ideas?

If you have a hernia, you should be able to feel where it indents. I can't help you out more than that, because my hernia didn't hurt and it was small enough that it didn't interfer with daily activities.

Hello, you may want to check it out. Sadly enough I have been told not to pick up my son who just reached 26 lbs because of hernia risk. This stinks because he always reaches for daddy to pick him up. I pick him up all the time and so far so good!  :2thumbsup;
