I got a call from the hospital this morning and they had a kidney that was 33% match  :bandance; ..unfortunately I have a chest cold and they have decided to pass me over  :(. Wasn't to sure what to think at first because it was first thing on a sunday morning and I was woken by the call, now I feel a bit bummed. Never had the call before and don't think I was really ready for it. Maybe now I will have some idea and now I know that is won't be far away seems scary and exciting, well one more reason to be extra vigilant with my diet and exercise I guess. Wish me luck  :pray;

A 33% match doesn't sound all that great, so hopefully the next one is higher!  It will happen soon.  Prayers to the family's loss and hope someone else was able to use them.

It is a good sign that you are close to your match, though!  :cheer:

If you live in the U.S., this call may mean (1) you are very close to the top of the list if the match is for pairs A or B, (2) you are two years away from the top of the list if the match is for pair Dr., or (3) you are one year away from the top of the list if the match is for one of pair Dr.  Anyway, any call is a good sign and better get ready next time.

Yea!  Keep your bag packed and get well soon!  Sounds like your kidney is on it's way!  Good Luck!   :clap;

My understanding is these days a 2/6 match is not so much a "bad thing" as the antigen matches aren't so important as they once were considered to be. I'd take a 2/6 match anyday!

That you had the cold is a bummer, but they're doing the right thing in passing you over for that organ - and it could indeed be fate interveening. That you got the call probably means you'll get another one soon hopefully, and perhaps a better organ for YOU. You have to stay positive and focus on that outcome.

Hang in there!
