Franks surgery was canceled because the biopsy showed the tumor has spread.
Today they are embolizing the blood supply to the kidney to stop the bleeding.
I'm so distressed, my life is crumbling and watching the torture Franks been through
is tearing me up.
Now he needs to start treatment once they decied what to do. How will he survive all this??

Diane,

So sad to hear that this is happening. I am sending cyber hugs and will pray that you both find the strength to come through this.

 :( :(   Worried about Frank and about you too.  You said you have family at home, fathers and sons and things.  Are they good for things like hot meals and company?

Yes at our home there is my Dad who is 84 & in a wheelchair, our Son, wife & 2 grandchildren. We have services come in to bathe my Dad everyday. My son & daughter-in-law have been taking care of my Dad getting all his meals, shopping for him etc. I've been coming home every other day to sleep as I'm not able to sleep well at the hospital. The nurses have brought in a cot for me to sleep on but they are in & out all night long. He has had blood tranfusions (11 units so far) which if done in the room take hours & he must be watched closely. I'm so tired, scared & I'm so disappointed in the way things have gone. I feel like the doctors have shoved us into a 10x12 ft room to wait & see what they do next. He has tubes & cathaters everywhere. We cannot even hold each other as his bed is higher than the cot & not enough room for me to climb in his. They cannot leagaly give me a bed higher in case I fall out. My life is falling apart around me & I can't do anything to change that.

Will they allow it for you to bring things from home in?  Even a familar bedspread, or pictures...?  Things that might make the room into more of a safe feeling space for you both to be in?  I went with Gregory to emergency once, and saw a family come to visit a man with some serious trouble with his lungs.  They brought him a patchwork quilt from home.  I think it helped them all.

This is so sad . I wish I can have all the hurt to just go away for you. Hold his hand and kiss him and put your head on his pillow (sitting next to him)

Bring lotion in and rub his feet (or anything else that you can reach) Talk to him and bring his favourate music (softly) My heart goes out to you and the family.

Oh Diane, that is a cruel blow your hubby (and you) have suffered. I really don't know what to say. I can't even begin to imagine how you must feel and even me, who is usually so positive about stuff, feels deeply sad about this setback.

My best wishes and thoughts at this time that somehow, someway, some kind of miracle occurs for you and hubby can improve and fight this latest setback.

 :( I am so sorry. If they don't have a concrete plan, would it matter if you brought him home? I don't know if that is impossible or not, but I understand about not being able to hold each other. That's the worst, because you both need it now. Best wishes and HUGS for you both.

The embolizing of the kidney went well today. All his vitals are stable & his pain is lower than before the procedure. He was so very tired when he got back. 4 hours of D then 2 1/2 hour surgery with 3 hours in the recovery.

Diane, I am so glad that things have gone well and that Frank has less pain. Wonderful, encouraging news. A full dialysis session followed by surgery? My hat is off to him. :bow; That is one grueling day and I hope you both can get some good rest now. :grouphug;

Oh Diane, that's the thing about life.  Just as you get your parade set
up, it starts to rain.  My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to you and Frank.  This is a hard, hard, time.  Stay close to Jesus, He knows what you are going through.
