In da House.

« on: May 01, 2007, 09:24:04 AM »

Summer is finally on its way here , we have had  a beautiful day of sunshine and warm breezes!  I have sat outside with a large bag of potting compost, a load of plant pots and some trays of plants, it has been a lovely relaxing day , nothing strenuous, just fresh air,sunshine and hopefully a whole nice display of plants to show for it ! Hows you day been?  :wine;

It's hot outside, I have no AC at work, an audit is looming for Monday that I'm not prepared for, and a trip for this weekend is looming that I'm not prepared for, but other than that, I'm fine!   :2thumbsup;

cloudy, breezy but wonderful. I went to the barn this morning at 9:30, put my horse out and in walked Donnie. He's been away from the barn for a yr with lung cancer. He had a partial lobe removed and he's finally feeling well enough to come back. He brought in a new horse (yesterday) and today he harnessed him up and jogged him around the track. He said he was feeling ok but I could see he's still pretty weak. It'll take him some time to build up the stamina to train racehorses again! It made me feel good to be able to offer him a hand or any help if he needed it. I have a chair in my tack stall that I use for nice days to just sit and read. I forgot to mention it's there incase he needs a little sit-down after all his hard work. I came home, had something to eat, did an exchange while I sat at the computer, and now I'm heading out the door to buy some groceries to make my fabulous hubby a nice dinner (still don't know what though)....Yep, great day!

My day has been good so far.  Dialyzed, 2 kilos over dry so that was o.k., I have a catering coming up this Sunday that I planned a menu for, and after it cools down a little (approaching 90 in N.C.) I am going out on the bike for a ride, might meet my friends for some Mexican food tonight.

The Menu

small fruit tray with chocolate sauce
crab dip in cucumber boats
tropical fruit salsa w/tortilla chips
shrimp cocktail
hummus w/pita wedges
oysters (raw)
stone crab claws

bbq shrimp lollipops w/papaya mango chutney
grilled lamb chops w/apple relish
pork souvlakia w/taztziki sauce
mini jalapeno cheddar burgers

fresh fruit martini's w/ganache drizzle

Me with Baron von Fresenius

« Reply #9 on: May 01, 2007, 01:28:59 PM »

Not too bad. The weather's been really nice. Too bad I've spent my afternoon tethered to a 160 pound hunk of metal and plastic, better known as a Fresenius 2008H.

We had the marine layer in this morning but it is now burning off rapidly to reveal a blue sky.  There is some moderate breeze so the palm fronds are just lazily moving around at the tops of the trees.

The day hasn't been terribly busy but a nice lunch presented itself a while back from which we've just returned.

There are immigration rallies in progress in the city but we haven't seen a hint of them up this way which is good because I want to go home without problems in 90 minutes.

I'm thinking about friends today and hoping that they are ok.  Enjoy your day!

pretty nice day here- husbands pain patch wore off last night before we realized it, so we were awake most of the night- but it did allow us to have a wonderful nap today!!

What kinds of plants did you plant? Some pretty flowers sure help the outlook on life doesn't it? Not to mention a dose of sunshine!

Busy day at work...on the road, seeing clients, pushing paperwork then sat at the Orthopedic Surgeons office for almost two hours. Ended up getting a shot of cortisone in my hip to help the arthritis; doc didn't charge me my $30.00 co-pay since I had to wait so long. Went to a dinner in honor of my cousin, Bob, who passed away a year ago today.

We had marine layer until around noon today then cleared off to a smoggy blue sky. The construction next door to my classroom changes every day. Some days it sounds like they are driving a truck through my room. Today was sort of loud, but we were louder.  Worked the kids all day.  I attended a dessert auction for our staff and bought a chocolate cake.   MMMMMM. Then came home grumpy and hungry after an after school surprise meeting.  Then went to dinner for Taco Tuesday at Bakers. Bought a fire extinguisher for the house and ice.  Then came home to do some yard work in beautiful cool evening weather.  Hubby helped out. We filled two trash cans with green waste.  Then into the house for dessert and computer time.  Over all a very nice day.

I just started it, so all I know is that I woke up this morning.

All things considered - that's not a bad start!

That's funny...that's what we say about the weather in Michigan! I just hope it doesn't snow on Mother's Day this year.... :P
Can't complain about the weather lately...the buds on the trees burst out a couple of days ago. I love green so much more than brown!

The weather's been beautiful here in Indiana...but we are supposed to get cooler/wet weather. Oh well.
It'll come back!  I'm feeling better, walked again today, it felt so darn good!
