most of my catheter stitches have come out on their own, but there's a couple of them that are just hanging there by the threads and haven't come out yet. My issue is they are really sore. The nurses at dialysis don't want to touch them because they are afraid I might tug on it since nothing will be holding it down. They said they'll eventually come out on their own.
I've had a catheter before, I never pulled on it or anything, and the weird thing is I didn't have a problem with my last catheter with the stitches hurting. Yeah they hurt a little as they started hanging by their threads, but not like these do.
My question is is there anything that I can do to eas the disconfort until all the stitches fall out? I had this catheter for several weeks now so the cuff should be grown in by now so I don't understand why they just won't take them out.
