I am on my own..... training is done and I did my first D at home with Nxstage...... home visit went well.....
Del of supplies today went well not as many as I thought..... I am glad I went with Nxstage......

May 13, 2009, went to urgent care with shortness of breath
May 19, 2009, went to doctor for severe nausea
May 20, 2009, admited to hospital for kidney failure
May 20, 2009, started dialysis with a groin cath
May 25, 2009, permacath was placed
august 24, 2009, was suppose to have access placement but instead was admited to hospital for low potassium
august 25, 2009, access placement
January 16, 2010 thrombectomy was done on access

I know I've said it before Kathy, but you are an inspiration! Following along with you on this jouney has seeriously eased my mind about ever having to do hemo. I am so much more at ease with the thought of it after reading how you have coped with it all. Thank you so much and congratulations!

Diagnosed Nov 2007 with Multiple Myeloma.
By Jan 2008 was in end stage renal failure and on haemodialysis.
Changed to CAPD in April 2008. Now on PD with a cycler. Working very part time - teaching music. Love it. Husband is Paul (we're both 46), daughter Molly is 13.

Admin for IHateDialysis 2008 - 2014, retired.
Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.
She did PD Sept. 2013 - July 2017
Found a swap living donor using social media, friends, family.
New kidney in a paired donation swap July 26, 2017.

I am pretty proud of my self..... When I started this journey of Dialysis I was over whelm to say the least..... this has been a big deal.... in my life.... I tackled it and I was scared....... but I did it..... So I can say like many IF I CAN DO IT ANYONE CAN DO IT........
Its everyone here and all the information that I have received that made this possible for me..... like others to follow...... this place is wonderfull......
