It was so impressive to see all the people who Lori Hartwell brings together to create the Prom. Many of the volunteers are kidney patients, or related to someone who has had kidney disease. And it's all for the kids. The decorations are donated and even the professional set designer is included. Notre Dame High School students (under the guidance of some great teachers) spend hours and hours, working the whole weekend to help pull it together, then greet and dance with patients, and help tear it all down too. Lori's staff is amazing too, really going above and beyond the typical job description to make everything run well. I am pretty sure Lori spoke to every single patient during the evening - and that's over 100 teens, at least! And Jack Black would not stop signing autographs until every patient had been greeted, a photo personalized, and a photo taken. I am his biggest fan ever now!!
-- I tried to upload photos but it won't work from the hospital internet - but you can see some on my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/karolfranks/sets/72157623247534584/ There are more photos at www.rsnhope.org.
