Just another hamster on the dialysis W.O.F.

« on: January 15, 2010, 08:30:45 AM »

I have low albumin, so I am given Nepro while at dialysis.  I am in center hemo.  I have noticed that sometimes the Nepro causes an interesting reaction.  That I must rush to the rest room.  The Nepro seems  to "go right though" me.  This only happens when I have a relatively empty stomach when I drink the Nepro, which sometimes I can't help.  Has anyone else had this reaction?  Is there anyway to  try to prevent this?  Thanks.

   Well I wouldnt be drinking that untill I was off the machine..... I worried about the coffee that I would drink during D....  but I have not had to get off of the mach  to go yet.......  but close...   the biggest fear I have is having to go #2 and not being able to hold that......there are some days....but that is another story best left to facebook people..... :rofl;

I always drink 1 of the pecan flavored Nepros during D.  My very first girlfriend from when I was 10 years old lives near by and sends me 2 cases whenever I run out.   It does not go right through me.  It does give me some very nasty flatulence sometimes.

flatulence, yup that's another interesting side affect.  Such that you could clear out a whole room.  :rofl; :rofl;

I've never experienced any of the aforementioned problems.  I use to drink the stuff all the time; Boost, Ensure and Nepro. I can't touch any of it now. It comes right back up  :puke; after I drink it. It makes me sad.  :( I really do like the stuff. My dietitian couldn't tell me why it would make me sick within minutes of drinking it.
