After only about 7 weeks on PD, my brother was approved as a kidney donor for me. We are scheduled for 12/29 for the transplant.

My brother is 1 year older than I am and his kidney function came back at 90%; mine is 12%. Isn't that something? Thank goodness he is a generous person. I found out I had IgA Nephropathy when I was 20 so I've known for some time this day would come but after 30 years, I was foolishly thinking I would keep my own kidneys the rest of my life. Anyway, my brother always said when the time came, he would give me one of his kidneys. Now he is!

Thank you all for your well wishes. I have to admit, I'm nervous but more for my brother than for me.
