Her royal highness Queen Ruth on her throne, RIP

« on: November 25, 2009, 10:40:06 PM »

Tonight at dialysis I had a record night of suck. First it took 7 sticks, 3 nurses and over 45 minutes to get good flow and start the dialysis. Later I was itchy and asked for some benedryl. This caused my bp to crash and for the first time ever, I passed out. At the end of the night it took several drinks and some saline pushes to get my BP up to a level that I could go home.

My fistula looks good and sounds good. It feels good. It just keeps clotting the darn needles. I am going to see the surgeon next week to have him double check everything. King Leon sends his royal love to you all.

You need some TLC for sure!  :grouphug;

Good news that your fistula is still thrilling well. How high is your HG. If it gets too high your blood can get "sticky" and clot.

Hoping for a better run next time.

Maybe you should have them use wet sticks--a saline filled syringe attached to (and flush) the needle tubing.

i am most emphathetic.  Have been having the same kinds of problems with my graft and my BP.  It is a rare evening that sees me leaving without at least three Sureseals on, and without having had to wait until my BP was reasonable.

Because of my tendency to clot, they always do wet sticks. I clot anyway. Thanks for the suggestion though.
