My kidney's failed a month after I gave birth to my beautiful daughter becaused the doctors mis-diagnosed me when I had gallstones which went into my pancreas causing pancreantitis. Now im just waiting to be put on the transplant list
I'm very thankful to have a chance to see my lil girl grow up !!

They pretty much put me out. It was supposed to be twilight but I don't remember a thing about the removal.

They took mine out with just a few shots of numbing stuff...a few tugs and a pinch or two and it was over!

They didn't numb anything for mine. Just getting the skin loose hurt a wee bit, then a tug and it was out.

They numbed the area and I felt some tugging and pulling and they put pressure on the site after. The procedure didnt take long.

I've had two catheter removals. Both times I was awake and the procedure takes about 15 minutes, maybe less. They gave me localized anesthesia which means they stuck a needle into my upper left chest near my catheter and I didn't feel any pain when they removed it. You do feel a tug now and then while the doctor is working but no pain what so ever. Afterwards, they apply a bandage on your wound and apply pressure to it for a few minutes to make sure you arent bleeding. Then they let you go.
I had to make an appointment at the nephrologist's clinic to get my 2nd catheter removed and while I felt fine afterwards, a nurse did recommend that someone drive me to and from the clinic just in case I had some kind of reaction to the anesthesia.
